Mythology of Somarama
According to Hindu legend, the five Pancharama Lingams originated after the demon Tarakasura was slain by Kumara Swamy (Lord Kartikeya). The Lingam in Tarakasura’s throat split into five fragments and fell at different locations. The fragment that fell at Bhimavaram became the Somarama Lingam.
