సోమారామం సోమేశ్వర స్వామి దేవస్థానం, గునుపూడి, భీమవరం
క్షేత్రం — స్థలపురాణం
పంచారామాల్లో ఒకటైన సోమారామం భీమవరం పట్టణానికి రెండు కిలోమీటర్ల దూరంలో గునుపూడిలో ఉన్నది. స్థానిక స్థలపురాణానికి అనుసరించి, త్రిపురాసుర సంగ్రామంలో విరిగిన శివలింగపు ముక్కలలో ఒకటి ఇక్కడ పడినదని చెబుతారు. ఈ లింగాన్ని చంద్రుడు ప్రతిష్ఠించాడని విశ్వాసం ఉన్నందున దీనిని సోమేశ్వరక్షేత్రమని పిలుస్తారు.
చరిత్ర
చాళుక్య భీముడు ఈ దేవాలయానికి గోపురం మరియు ప్రాకారాలు నిర్మించాడని చారిత్రక సూచనలు ఉన్నాయి. అందుకే పల్లె వారు దీన్ని భీమారామంగా కూడా పిలుస్తారు.
ఆలయ ప్రత్యేకతలు
- శివలింగం సాధారణంగా శ్వేతవర్ణంలో కనిపించే లింగం — ఇది చంద్రశిలగా పరిగణించబడుతుంది.
- అమావాస్య సమీపంలో లింగం బూడిద/గోధుమ వర్ణానిక్కు మారుతుంది; పౌర్ణమి రోజున మళ్లీ శ్వేతంగా మారిపోతుంది.
- దేవాలయం రెండు అంతస్తులుగా ఉంటుంది — క్రింది అంతస్తులో సోమేశ్వరుడు, పైభాగం గర్భాలయంలో అన్నపూర్ణాదేవి.
- ఆలయం ప్రాంగణంలో మొత్తం ఐదు నందులు ఉండగా, దీన్ని పంచ నందీశ్వరాలయం అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు.
ప్రత్యేక ఉత్సవాలు
మహా శివరాత్రి సందర్భంగా ఇక్కడ ఐదురోజుల కళ్యాణోత్సవాలు నిర్వహిస్తారు. అలాగే దేవీ నవరాత్రులు, కార్తిక ఉత్సవాలు గొప్ప వైభవంతో జరుగుతాయి.
దర్శన సమయాలు & సూచనలు
సాధారణంగా ఉదయం 6:00 నుండి సాయంత్రం 8:00 వరకు ఆలయం నిర్వహణ ఉంటుంది (సమయాలు స్థానిక నిర్వాహకుల ప్రకారం మారవచ్చు). ప్రత్యేక ఉత్సవాల సమయంలో దర్శనాలకు ఎక్కువ మంది వస్తారు — ముందుగా సమాచారాన్ని పొందడం మంచిది.
చంద్రపుష్కరిణిలో స్నానం చేస్తే పాపాలు నశిస్తాయని నమ్మకం ఉంది — భక్తుల విశ్వాసం ప్రత్యేకత.

Legend & Significance
Somarama is one of the five sacred Pancharama shrines. According to local purana, one fragment of the Shivalinga broken during the Tripurasura battle fell at this place. The lingam here is believed to have been installed by the moon god (Chandra), therefore the temple is known as Someshwara.
History
Historical evidence attributes temple structures and the gopuram to Chalukya King Bhima — hence the name Bhimarama in local tradition.
Temple Highlights
- Color-changing Shiva Lingam — appears white normally, turns greyish/brownish near Amavasya, and becomes white again on Pournami. Devotees believe the lingam is made of a lunar stone (Chandra Shila).
- Two-level sanctum — ground floor deity Someshwara and upper sanctum with Annapurna Devi.
- Five Nandi idols on premises — also called Pancha Nandeeshwara.
- Chandra Pushkarini — holy tank believed to cleanse sins through ritual bathing.
Festivals
Maha Shivaratri (five-day Kalyanotsavam), Devi Navaratri, and Karthika month celebrations draw many devotees.
